Lars Hoefs DMA

Cello
Lars Hoefs hails from Appleton, WI. He attended high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts, received a B.M. from Northwestern University under Hans Jørgen Jensen, and both Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Southern California, studying cello with Ronald Leonard. At USC, Lars was teaching assistant for the Contemporary Music Ensemble, winner of LA Weekly's "Ensemble of the Year."

Lars has performed and taught on four continents. He returns every August to Brazil for the Rio International Cello Encounters, and spent a half-dozen summers under the midnight sun at festivals in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Lars is cellist of the California Quartet and the Connections Chamber Music Series. Honors include top prizes in the Fischoff, MTNA, Coleman, and Peninsula Chamber Music Competitions. In demand as a writer, Lars was the program annotator for the Pasadena Symphony.

Lars spent 2009 as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira in Rio de Janeiro, where he researched Villa-Lobos and performed tango and solo Bach with dancers.

Hans Krisitan Golstein

Cello
Hans Kristian Goldstein, a 'Virtuoso experience' (Norwegian Østlands Post), was born in Norway. He began playing the cello at the age of eleven. He made his solo debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, at Sixteen as he grew up nearby.
As a teacher Hans has instructed young pupils in Sweden, Norway and United States. He teaches cello, Chamber music and Orchestra. Hans taught at the Peabody Conservatory Preparatory. He also taught Non-Major Students at the Thornton School of Music at USC, Los Angeles.
Mr. Goldstein has performed as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Hans performed in Sweden, Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Russia, Moldova and Norway. He also performed in South Africa, China and throughout the United States.

His performances have been broadcast on television and radio. Performances were broadcast in Norway on NRK. KUSC Los Angeles, New Hampshire Public Radio, WFMT, WQXR (United States) and on the Pretoria Radio in South Africa. He was named "New Artist of the Month" in the April 2010 issue of Musical America. A solo recital was cited as one of Baltimore's ten top musical events in 2010 by the Baltimore Sun. He has also appeared as "Fresh Face" in the Strad Magazine.
He performed in many reputable concert halls. These include Carnegie Weill Hall, Merkin Halls of NYC. He also performed at the Chicago Cultural Center, Steinway, Shriver, Disney and the Grieg Hall in Norway
